The 5 Step Guide to Increase Your Energy and Wake Up Happy Everyday

There are many different types of ways of waking up in the morning. Some days you wake up with so much energy, ready to take on the day, but other times you may want to keep pressing snooze on your morning alarm. We have all experienced both situations, but there are a few things that we can do in order to wake up on the right side of the bed and with a lot of energy.

Staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, and exercising regularly are all crucial for maintaining good energy levels throughout the day. However, it’s also important to pay attention to what you eat and the decisions you make about your health because these things can greatly affect how energized you feel.

So, these are five simple things that you can do every day to increase your energy and wake up feeling happy. By following these tips, you’ll be on your way to living a healthier and happier life every day!

Improve what you take in

It's important to make sure that you are drinking a lot of water throughout the day. Dehydration is actually a common cause of fatigue and low energy levels, so try to drink at least eight glasses of water per day. But at times, drinking that much water a day may not be the easiest so feel free to change it up by infusing your water by and adding fresh fruit!

Taking vitamins and supplements everyday can greatly improve your energy levels and focus. Certain supplements can even elevate your mood such as Ashwagandha or B12.

Eating balanced meals will give you more energy and help you stay alert throughout the day. Incorporate fruits and vegetables into your diet and avoid foods that are high in sugar and junk food. Not only will this help keep your energy levels consistent throughout the day, but it'll also help you feel better.

I can attest to cutting out sugar and feeling a deep change in how my day goes. I wake up pretty early, around 5:30am everyday, and I used to crash at around 12. After reading some articles written by other people that wake up super early, they weren't having this issue. I had to do some inventory on what I was eating and how that was making me feel. What I found? I was eating way too much sugar. I started the year sugar free and after 5 days of cutting it out....no more crashes! I'm excited to dive deeper into this new venture and see what I discover.

Get Enough Sleep

A key step to waking up refreshed is getting enough sleep. Most people need between seven and eight hours of sleep per night. It's pretty simple, if you aren't getting enough sleep, you won't feel energized when waking up. While you are sleeping, your body regulates and repairs itself. Research shows that a lack of sleep can lead to compounding health issues.

Before going to sleep, try not to use your phone or laptop. The blue light that coming from your devices is actually hindering your entire sleep. Plus it will take much longer to start counting sheep because your brain is wired from the light. It can create issues with your circadian rhythm which is what controls your sleep cycle. If you use your phone or laptop at night, be sure to turn them off an hour before heading to bed.

Exercise Regularly

Exercising regularly releases endorphins, which improve your mood, give you more energy, as well as help you stay in shape, mentally and physically. Try to aim for at least three workouts per week! You can do it. These workouts can be going on a walk, dancing, yoga or anything that may increase your heart rate.

Although sometimes you may not have enough time in the day to work out, you can also stretch! Stretching helps with the circulation in your body and will awaken your body as well as your mind. Not only does exercise help you wake up better, but it also helps lower the risk of disease and improves your day-to-day life.

Reduce Your Stress Levels

The last important part of increasing your energy and happiness when waking up is reducing and controlling your stress levels. Try finding ways to relax and de-stress every day. It could be listening to music, watching a movie, meditating, the MAGIC method, anything that you can enjoy.

Meditating is a great way to boost energy levels and wake up happy every morning. Mindful meditation can help you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings, which in turn can help you cope with stress on a more peaceful level.

If you meditate before going to sleep, it can help increase your melatonin levels which will then help you have a better night's rest. You are allowing your brain and body to finally relax after a long day and experience a level of peace. Your thoughts become more organized, and the distractions will minimize. Not only does it help you sleep deeper bu have a more energized day when you wake up.
