Start your day off right with the MAGIC approved Fall Morning Ritual. After a good night's sleep, thanks to the crisp air outside, you will be refreshed and ready to take on the day. So much power you hold, how are you going to use it?
This ritual includes some of my favorite things: namely, hot coffee and peace of mind. It is critical to start your day off on the right foot by taking care of YOU first!
Step 1: Cozy Wake Up

Step 2: Calming Scents
One of the first things I do each morning, especially during fall, is to light a candle. It’s a hello to my morning, as well as a welcome to scents that will fill my home and set the tone of my day.
Thistle Farms has been a life-saving organization for women who are survivors of trafficking, prostitution, and addiction. They employ many women, and are able to provide a stable and loving place for them to get back on their feet. This should be enough for anyone to support their cause, but on top of their wonderful mission, they have delicious smelling and cozy candles.
My personal favorite is the Balance Candle with Lemon and Lavender. It sets the perfect tone for my mornings. I am both focused and energized. We all know that scents affect our mood, but there’s even scientific evidence to back it up. So, a scent that’s going to make you feel good in your space!
Step 3: Look Within
The next step is to simply look within. Spending just five minutes each morning with nothing but the silence around you, and training your brain and thoughts to slow down is no easy task. However, it will change your life.
You’ll start to notice connections between things, everything becomes a pattern, everything has a reason. You’ll have more focus and more energy. Meditation is simply a cure-all, and I couldn’t have my morning routine without it!
Step 5: Journal
After my thoughts are clear and I’m completely in the present moment, I take out my journal. The Magic Mornings Journal has been a game-changer for so many morning routines. Previously, I would journal on a piece of paper, but I found that without a common structure for the time, it was hard to see the throughline between my goals, intentions, and aspirations.
Now, each morning I sit down with my prompt. I fill in the spaces and that’s it - and I’m ready to go with my mind clear and all of the inspiration I need to get through the day ahead.
Step 6: Streeetchhh
Now that my mind is prepared, it’s time to prepare my body for the day ahead. I like to stretch outdoors if possible to breathe in some of the fall air. Allow all of the coolness to fill your lungs and you’ll dig deeper into your stretches! I promise.
Stretching helps your muscles reach full range of mobility, decreases risk of injury, and brings happy hormones to your head. This is possibly the most forgotten part of any morning routine, but it’s necessary for our overall health and well being!
Step 7: Get Inspired
I always put a podcast on in the background while making my coffee. If I want to start my day off in a creative mood, I put on The Moment with Brian Koppelman. It’s a genius show hosted by a genius mind. But, usually, I put on my guilty pleasure which makes me feel that anything is possible: How I Built This with Guy Raz.
The show takes you on a journey of a successful CEO’s journey from start to finish. He always asks the same question at the end: “How much of your success do you attribute to luck and how much do you attribute to your innate ability.” Everyone has a different answer, but the common theme between all of the world’s most successful business people is that while luck plays a part, your personal success usually has to do with our own willingness to seize opportunities as they are presented. It’s all about living without fear!
Step 8: Get Energized
A Magic Morning approved routine wouldn’t be complete without coffee. But, for fall, of course the coffee must come with the almost obligatory pumpkin spice flavor. Even if you just have a little pumpkin pie spice in the cupboard, a dash of that will do the trick.
However, if you’re looking for a more full-blown pumpkin spice latte, I recommend this vegan recipe which is fast and delicious! There’s no scientific explanation for this one, but pumpkin spice lattes just taste better than regular coffee during fall.
And it’s as simple as that! Every morning to me is sacred, but fall always brings a special sense of warmth with it. Even though we’re losing the physical warmth more and more as the days go on, I feel more warmth within. Maybe this is because I put in extra effort to give myself comfort, maybe it's the season itself. Whatever the reason, fall is special to me. And, I hope this routine helps fortify that for you as well.
